The Women in Black
I looked at this trailer as I liked the use of the over voice on the trailer. The sound on the trailer is what made the trailer more eerie and brought another emotion to the trailer. The voice over is from a small kid as they explain about 'The Women in Black.' The poem gives enough information to make the viewer curious but not enough to give away the plot of the film, which creates curiosity and suspension.
During afternoon tea
Theres a shift in the air
A bone trembling chill
That tells you she's there
There are those who believe
The whole town is cursed
But the house in the marsh
Is by far the worst
What she wants is unknown
But she always comes back
The specter of darkness
The Woman in Black

RESEARCHING SHORT FILMS
Today in class we look at two short films, High Maintenance and Next Door.
High Maintenance was a short film by Phillip Van, it is based in the near-future, where a women who has a robotic husband who fails to meet her standards. She then shuts him done and exchanges him for a newer model. Upon the new models arrival she becomes disappointed finding the same problems as the first. The new model then proceeds to shut her down, exposing how she is also a robot, he then watches TV and smokes leaving her at the table.
Next Door by Drew Mylrea was about a man who fell in love with his neighbour, he then helped her with her plans of making TNT. Upon her death we find out she was in fact a terrorist.
Both these movies work well due the plot twist which most short films feature, this keeps the audience engaged.
