PLANNING: CREATING THE EMAILS

I was set the task for faking some emails between The Ghost and Aaron, this is what causes Aaron to be taken into custody in the first place, as the police has reason to believe him and Aaron are in contact. To do this, I used my friends Sophie email and changed her name in my laptop to The Ghost, and then wrote out some fake emails to print.

CONSTRUCTION: INDIVIDUAL FILMING

Today, I went to central London in order to film two time lapse sequences for our trailer. I did the first one of the London Eye as it is a great defiant structure in London, which people can then identify the location from. The second location was the Sky Garden in London. Below are some pictures from my day filming.

PLANNING: REFUGEE COSTUME

I searched refugee costume, in order to get some inspiration. The clothing appeared very basic and plain, so in our short film I decided a plain jumper, maxi skirt and a scarf to look like a hijab. Kate played the female refugee, she also held a coat in her arms in the shape of a baby. The bundle shows how most of the clothing goes to keeping the baby warm.
Refugee - plain brown top and jeans with a head scarf

Refugee - plain clothing
Here is a picture of Kate playing the female refugee for our trailer

My friend Omar played the male refugee and Kate's husband. He wore plain jeans, plain top and a jacket. When telling Omar what to wear I googled male refugee in order to get a better understanding of the clothing and what he should wear, this is some of the things that came up:

I originally asked if Omar had any worn looking clothing as I thought that could work well for a male refugee who had been travelling. But upon asking him, it was clear he didn't so I settled on plain clothing.

PLANNING: CHRIS' COSTUME

Chris is Sydney's best friend, she was planning on meeting him the night she died. Chris is aware of Sydney's new life and change of attitude and clothing, however doesn't like to press the issue, however he worried for her. Chris is a very cool and calm guy, which is shown in his clothing as he wears very casual, relaxed clothes.
Chris is wearing black jeans, black socks and a black long sleeved top. A very relaxed and casual outfit.

CONSTRUCTION: FILMIMG

Today my group and I filmed both the refugee scene and warehouse scene, which was filmed in a building site. We were able to get permission to film there as I know the owner of the building site and he was present with us at all times for health and safety purposes. We decided to film at night in order to give more of a mysterious and dangerous atmosphere to the trailer. Here are a few snaps and videos from filming, I created the collage using the layout app.

PLANNING: THE GHOST'S COSTUME

When planning The Ghost's costume I thought something quite business like, but also slightly casual. To get inspiration for this I google'd causal business wear.

Taking inspiration from this, I decided on a deep red/burgundy shirt, the red to represent the danger of The Ghost, tucked into some grey work trousers, topped with black work smart shoes.
The Ghost is a business man, who is also smartly dressed and clearly has a lot of money from his many deals.

PLANNING: RISK ASSESMENT

As my group wanted a warehouse in our trailer, I thought it would be a good idea to use a building site, as it is still undeveloped and gives us the right atmosphere and look we were hoping to achieve. It was also a possible idea as I know a property manager, who would allow us to use his site. Although as the building is still being worked on, their was a health and safety risk. So to go around this and make sure everyone was safe at all times, we had the owner of the property on the site with us at all times. Along with two other adults, all at different points of the building site. So in total we had three adults with us and checking everything was safe. Along with this we wanted to film at night, so we had to make sure everything was lit well so we could see. In order not to put anyone in danger we agreed not to enter the building and only use the opening outside section of the site.

CONSTRUCTION: FILMING

Today Sophie, Marcus and I got a start on filming our trailer. We filmed in both Marcus' house and woking shopping centre car park. We did various scenes such as, Marcus running up the stairs, running in the car park, and the scene between Sydney and Aaron on the night she dies. Along with this we also filmed a scene to show Sydney's new money, we showed this by having lots of bags for Sydney to come home with.

I created this collage using the app Layout.

PLANNING: AARON'S COSTUME

Aaron is the most featured character in this trailer, so due to this, he needed a few different costumes. One of the costumes was a white logo top, and a leather jacket. Another outfit is a dark grey, blue logo'd t-shirt. Another outfit was black shirt and white bottoms. These costume changes just help make the trailer seem more realistic as a trailer is small sections and parts of a full length movie, in which the characters will change costumes for the different days.
Here is a collage I made using the layout app to show some of the costumes.

PLANNING: SYDNEY'S COSTUME

As I am playing the role of Sydney, I had to think of her costume the night she died. As a group we decided she would be going out that night so a dress and heels, I then decided this dress would work for the role.

For the other scene with Sydney I needed lots of bags to show she went shopping so i decided on these.

For the scene where Sydney goes shopping I wore black jeans, a grey top that said 'New York 42' on it, a long black coat and booted heels. To completely change her look from the scene where she is in a  party dress I also tied my hair up in a ponytail, and wore a scarf.

These are the boots I wore as Sydney in both scenes.

Sydney is portrayed in the trailer as a girl who has a fair bit of money as, we see her walking in the house will bags such as Topshop, Pandora, Tiffany, Links, crabtree & Evelyn and Guess. She gets the money for all of spending herself, illegally by selling fake passports to illegal immigrants. Sydney is the classic 18 year old, going out partying, with expensive bags, heels, dresses and jewellery. However it is clear Sydney is not the average 18 year old, we see this as she lives just with her older brother, she does what she wants and goes out whenever she feels like it. Sydney is also a very clever character, we know this by how much she gets from her passport scans and not getting caught while doing it, this shows Sydney knows what she has gotten herself into and is very clever on how she presents herself to others. However it is also clear that she is still too young to be involved in such a heavy crime as she ends up getting herself killed.

PLANNING: RESEARCHING DEATH REPORTS

I was set the task of creating the 'death report' of Sydney Jones. To do this I researched a lot of different death documents and looked at shows such as NCIS, CSI and Bones. I also created a fake autopsy and a document going into the detail of her death. As we were not going to film a close up of the documents I just copied and pasted the same sentences to fill the pages.
