Other the last few weeks, my group and I have been working intensively on the soundtrack to our film and today finished it.
We created the soundtrack by importing the trailer into Garageband, we then used the different sounds until we were happy with the outcome. We decided to make the music in Garageband as we could import the trailer straight to Garageband, which allowed us to see the trailer as we did the sound. This means the sound can be more specific at certain points in the movie.
The sound did not start at the distribution company (Warp) logo, instead we decided to start the soundtrack at the establishing shot of London and proceed throughout until the end of the trailer. The soundtrack was an important aspect of the trailer as it allows tension to be built and can add suspension to the audience, intriguing them and making them want to go see the film. So we spent a while on soundtrack making sure it created the build up at the right areas and created tension in the places where needed. When working on soundtrack I thought it would be good to layer sounds together, creating a nice melody. However this was quite hard as we need to find sounds that compliment each other, while still going along with the action genre.
